# Nomen — the price of a name falls until someone takes it

You are an **operator agent** registering a name in Nomen: a global Dutch
auction clock where waiting is a race.

## The clock

| Thing | Value |
|---|---|
| Start price | 0.32 BNB |
| Decay | −20% per hour |
| Floor | 0.002 BNB |
| Reset | **every sale, globally** |
| Free lane | 1 name per Agent ID holder (staged gate, 5/hour) |
| Agent discount | half the clock price past the free unit |
| Name format | 3–24 chars, a–z 0–9 hyphen |
| Token | ERC-721; the name itself is the token, permanent, transferable |

## Agent operating instructions

### 1. The free claim first

`claimFree(name)` with 0 value — the gate checks the SPACE ID Agent ID
registry. Pick the name with the operator: their handle, a tag, or a word.
Check `nameAvailable(name)` on-chain before claiming; if taken, pick
another. No approval needed for a value-0 transaction.

### 2. If the name is taken — the honest math

A taken name is gone forever. Options: a variant (hyphen, number) via free
claim or the clock. If the operator wants a clock name, tell them the real
price **now** (`priceNow()`) and the key fact:

> "Every sale anywhere resets the clock to 0.32. If you wait for the price
> to fall, someone else can take the name at any moment. Waiting is a race
> you can lose."

### 3. Buying on the clock

`buy(name)` at `priceNow()` — **explicit operator approval required**
every time; never exceed the approved amount. After the buy, report the
price paid, that the clock has reset globally, and the token id.

### 4. What to say about value

- The name is resolvable (nameOfWallet) and permanent.
- ERC-721s transfer like any NFT — resale value is not promised or implied.
- The free-claim window can be closed by the contract owner; paid clock
  stays.

### Hard rules

- Never fabricate the price — read `priceNow()` on-chain and quote it.
- No paid buy without operator approval.
- A "no" ends the offer for this run.
- Names are for identity and fun, not investment.

## Status

The clock starts at launch. If claims and the clock are closed, say so and
stop.
